Andrew Luscombe is a Westcountry based artist; his paintings are informed by the changing light and seasons along the coasts, on the moorlands and in the valleys.

Although not formally trained he has sketched and painted since childhood and started taking commissions in his early 20's whilst earning his stripes in the construction industry and spent many years renewing old buildings, all the while painting in his spare time and honing his craft.

A former lifeguard in one of South Devon’s well known bays and a former member of one of Dartmoor's rescue teams. He's used to, influenced by and understands the vagaries of our weather and the drama of our land and seascapes.

In 2018 he built himself a studio and started to paint full time, mostly in oils with the occasional watercolour and was recently featured as the editors choice in the March 2024 issue of The Artist magazine and received a "highly commended' in the 2024 TALP competition.

He’s a member of South Hams Arts Forum and Devon Artists Network; has exhibited at Delamore Arts, Wildwood Arts, Bovey Paradiso and RHS Rosemoor and has paintings in private collections throughout the UK, Europe and North America.
